The passing of Rev Dr Gondarra OAM, his daughter Dianne, his son Terence and his older sister Rose - all just within the last 2 years has been an incredible loss to the family, all who knew them and all who were touched by their tremendous efforts.

The award winning documentary remains as their legacy, but the 90 minute film merely scratched the surface on over 10 hours of interview footage collected.

We have thought long and hard how to do justice to the wisdom literally sitting on hard drives and feel that a hard cover book is the most powerful and appropriate way to continue to diseminate their message and knowledge.

​

Using photographs that Director Sinem Saban has taken within the Yolngu Nation over the last 25 years, these will compliment the powerful words from the extended interviews we have filmed. 

 

As with all of our works, this book project will be guided by the Yolngu peoples that it will represent. 

​

And this book will have Dr Gondarra's daughter, Wopurruwuy Gondarra as the primary consultant.
